How to improve your email deliverability score
A low score almost always comes down to missing or misconfigured SPF, DKIM, or DMARC records. Here's a prioritized action plan:
- Add SPF first — The quickest win. Publish a TXT record at your root domain listing authorized senders.
- Set up DKIM — Your email provider (Google, Microsoft, Mailchimp, etc.) will give you a CNAME or TXT record to add.
- Add DMARC (start with p=none) — Even monitoring mode gives you visibility into spoofing attempts. Gradually move to p=quarantine then p=reject.
- Warm your domain — New domains need gradual sending volume increases before Gmail and Outlook trust them. SendOut automates this.
